In the Darkness, Light Shines
The season of Advent reminds us that the light of God's love in Christ shines in the darkness of this sin-broken world. At Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran School (IELS), it is our mission to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip students with a spiritual, moral, and academic foundation to prepare for a life of service to God, their families, and their community. In other words, we seek to let the light of Christ shine in the lives of students so that by it they may live faithful and Godly lives in this dark world.
Education is a Battlefied
In today’s world, education is a battleground. Christian families face a hostile environment as we raise up our children in the faith. This gives us an increasing sense of urgency. We need to teach the fundamentals of the Christian faith, beginning with Luther’s Small Catechism. And we need to add strong academic training to those fundamentals. The result will be that our students know who they are as children of God and are well-equipped for a life of love and service to their neighbor in whatever career they choose.
